My son was only a few weeks old when he developed a bad cough one night. There were many times during the night that the cough was so bad he had a hard time catching his breath. As a new mother, I was afraid to overreact and call the ambulance.
As soon as Chesterfield Pediatrics opened that morning, I called and was told to come right in. On the way to the office, he was coughing so hard he could barely breath. I arrived scared to death that I was going to lose my son.
As soon as I walked in, Dr. Harrington took us straight back to one of the rooms. She put him on oxygen and called the ambulance. She was able to get his oxygen level up and he was eventually given a breathing treatment. My son ended up in the hospital for several days recovering from RSV.
Had it not been for how quickly Dr. Harrington and everyone at Chesterfield Pediatrics reacted instinctively to save my son, he may not be with me today. Right now, he is a very healthy active four-year old. He brings me so much happiness I can’t imagine my life without him.

I have been going to Chesterfield Pediatrics for 17 years, my entire life.
Chesterfield Pediatrics was where my uncle and my sister went, so it seemed only natural for me to go there too. However, when I was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, a rare genetic disease that causes brittle bones, short stature, and other complications, my parents became concerned. Could a regular pediatrician handle the new problems that I presented? Could they effectively treat me without breaking anything in the process? They decided to give Chesterfield Pediatrics a chance, and I am very grateful today that they did.
I was first a patient of Dr. Bones, and after his retirement, I was adopted into Dr. Harrington’s care. Both of these doctors have always been there for me, whether for a minor cold or a more chronic problem. In the winter of 2007, I underwent a serious surgery to take out the top two bones of my spine, which had been pushing on my skull and causing discomfort and numbness in my arms. After this surgery, I experienced many complications, including problems with swallowing and coughing. Although these symptoms were often frustrating, having no obvious cause, Dr. Harrington especially never gave up and offered many ideas to ease the coughing, including numerous allergy medications and a breathing machine. All of these treatments were received quickly and with very little hassle. It was definitely reassuring to know that I had a doctor who would not give up no matter how difficult the problem.
Diann Aardem has been “my” nurse ever since I was born. Many others were afraid to give me vaccinations, scared they would hit a fragile bone in my arm and shatter it. Diann stepped up to the plate and, to this day, still gives me my annual flu shot. This just shows how Chesterfield pediatrics offers the feeling of a family, where the staff truly cares about the patients, rather than the stiff doctor’s offices that are becoming more and more common.
I would definitely recommend Chesterfield Pediatrics to any parent, especially the parent of a disabled child. At Chesterfield Pediatrics, you will find competent staff who are willing to work with you to solve a problem, explain it thoroughly, and never give up along the way.

I was commuting over 45 minutes each way to my pediatrician for my two children for no other reason than I trusted her! When I had my third child I knew that I needed to find someone closer to the house. Did I mention I am HORRIBLY PICKY and very difficult to satisfy? The pediatrician that I was using prior to my third child’s birth understood me and my family.
When my third child was born I was excited when I met Dr. Harrington in the hospital. She was patient and kind. The office was smaller than I was used to, having only a couple doctors. The ladies up front, Joann and Amanda, knew us when we walked in after only a couple visits. Joann quickly oriented me to the office and staff. She made sure I was able to get in to see Dr. Harrington when I needed. Getting to know Amanda was like finding a best friend. No matter what is going on with my children, she makes me feel my situation is important and she is never in a rush to get me off the phone. When my kids come in, Amanda is happy to see them and greets them with a huge smile.
I stuck with Dr. Harrington awhile as I don’t like seeing multiple doctors. When my oldest broke out in hives that would not stop and we were getting shots in the E.R., she held the clinic open late one night to personally evaluate the situation so we did not have to go back to the E.R. again. Then we had to see other doctors in the practice due to her availability. My husband met Dr. Ahmed and he was sold. A couple more visits, we met Dr. Little. Now I was sold.
Don’t get me wrong, all the doctors and practitioners are great, and I DO trust them … but if my child were walking on the street, Dr. Little would know which child was mine. Best of all, my kids BEG to see Dr. Little when they are sick or injured! The two-year old says Dr. Little is his girlfriend! He hated doctors for a while, but Dr. Little worked through that . . . patiently. Dr. Little is always there for our family whether she in “on-call” or not. It is so clear that her passion is about the growth and development and helping families raise healthy, well-adjusted children and her heart is 100% in the right place. I feel confident that this holds true for the other doctors and practitioners too. This is a small practice where the doctors provide a very personal touch!
